I chose these because of the optics, BAK-4, multi-coated, etc. And they may be great, but I rejected them out of the box because the other design considerations were lacking. The neck cord is a shoestring and there are no “handles” to attach a comfortable strap. The weight “feels” a lot heavier than the specification. Comparing these to my old porro-prism Bushnells, I think the porros are more compact. Definitely lighter. I’ll be re-ordering something along those lines.
these are an amazing value. extemely clear image in all conditions. wonderful price. i use them while fishing and to watch the space shuttle and ISS. im very happy. i left my old binoculars in my kayak and ruined them. wont happen again.
I won’t go into too much details. I have two of these, which I purchased after my son started getting interested in birds. The optics are simply bad. The alignment of the lenses is bad. Looking through the lenses I can clearly see that the components in the two units are in different positions. The lenses themselves are bad and impurities are easily visible. And the mechanisms are bad; when trying to focus on an object, most of the image remains out of focus. I even had one of the two units replaced by Amazon shortly after I received it and the replacement wasn’t any better. Six months later I decided we had to replace them. They now sit in a drawer most of the time. I would be too embarrassed to even give them away to someone, knowing how bad they are.
These are the best binoculars I have ever owned. I am not a hunter or dedicated bird watcher, so do not have the experience to compare against high priced models, but the clarity and operation of these are top notch.
I have small hands and a small face and these are the only binoculars I have found that allow the eye sockets to be width adjusted so you get the ’single circle’ view you are supposed to in binoculars.
The crispness of the view even at the longest distances is amazing. Great value, great product.
I bought these as a birthday gift for my daughter’s 9th birthday. She requested binoculars so I wanted to give her something that was durable, water resistant and with decent optics, but not for $75-$100. These seem to meet all those criteria. I would be happy to use them for camping or at concerts. The only reason I am giving 4 stars and not 5 is because I just don’t know how water resistant they are — haven’t been in the rain with them. I advised my daughter NOT to test them for water resistance!
